Kajol and Shah Rukha Khan play the role of two young Indian lovers who were raised in Britain. They fell in love with each other on a trip to Switzerland. The twist to the story comes when her conservative father is forced to take her back to India to fulfill a pre-arranged marriage.
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in 2002, this film, which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Jackie Shroff - tackles the depression suffered by a young man (Sha Rukh Khan) who is not allowed to marry the woman he loves and falls in a downward spiral life of vices.

The plot involves a complicated threesome: Anjali has her heart for Rahul (her best-friend) but he is in love with Tina. A few years have passed, Tina has passed away but her 8-year old daughter is helping Rahul to reunite with Anjali.
