Top 5 Most Romantic Bollywood Movies (from 1990 to 2013)

Looking out for films to watch with your desi girlfriend or hot aunty? Of course, you would only watch scandals from Bollywood actresses if you are alone.

Here my top 5 list of the best make-out, feel-good romantic movies that Bollywood has to offer. Who knows, you may get a kiss (or something even more) from your date after watching these films:

1. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.
This romantic film was directed by Aditya Chopra in 1995. Actors Kajol and Shah Rukha Khan play the role of two young Indian lovers who were raised in Britain. They fell in love with each other on a trip to Switzerland. The twist to the story comes when her conservative father is forced to take her back to India to fulfill a pre-arranged marriage. 

2. Devdas
Devdas

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in 2002, this film, which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Jackie Shroff - tackles the depression suffered by a young man (Sha Rukh Khan) who is not allowed to marry the woman he loves and falls in a downward spiral life of vices.

3. Parineeta
Parineeta.

This movie, released in 2005, stars Vidya Balan and Saif Ali Khan as lovers Lolita and Shekar, whose relationship was troubled by the arrival of another man. Actors Sanjay Dutt and Diya Mirza portrayed supporting roles in this romantic film.

4. Veer-Zaara
Veer-Zaara

Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Rani Mukherji, this film is about unconditional love. It tackles the issue of multi-cultural and transnational romance as it takes the love story of an Indian (Veer Pratap Singh) and a Pakistani (Zaara Hayaat Khan) to the delight of moviegoers and critics alike.

5. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Also referred to as KKHH by its fans, this 177-minute motion picture is now a cult favorite. It stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukherji and Farida Jalal. The plot involves a complicated threesome: Anjali has her heart for Rahul (her best-friend) but he is in love with Tina. A few years have passed, Tina has passed away but her 8-year old daughter is helping Rahul to reunite with Anjali.
